PJ Self graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma in 1998 with a Bachelors of Science in Special Education - receiving certification to work with children with emotional disturbances and children with learning disabilities. During her college career she worked as an assistant director at a program for at-risk children, the lead teacher on a home ABA program and a volunteer for Special Olympics.
Upon graduation she moved to Kansas City and joined PBM in 1999. In March 2002, PJ relocated to Denver, Colorado. Her work and role within the company have not changed as a community behavioral consultant; however, she is now one of PBM's lead representatives in the greater Denver area.
PJ has worked with a variety of age groups and populations in skill building (communication, leisure, self-help, social, academic, transition, etc.) and in reducing behaviors that often inhibit the learning process. PJ provides training and works directly with families, home teams, professionals and school staff on how to teach skills using Applied Behavior Analytic techniques. She also works closely with families and schools in developing behavior and learning support plans, organizing IEP implementation and streamlining home and school programs.
